SHUSHIN AIKI DOJO

INSTRUCTOR

Hanshi Chris Moslin - Visiting Chief Instructor

Aikido (8th Dan), Budo (5th Dan), Jujitsu (5th Dan), Aiki-jujutsu (4th Dan)

Chris began his martial arts training in 1962 in Penang, Malaya, during his military service. During the subsequent 40 plus years, he studied and taught aikido and jujutsu throughout the world and under the guidance of many senior sensei; most notably, Chris acknowledges Noro-sensei from France, and from Germany Hans von Rolbeck-sensei kyudan, ninth dan, aikido and kijutsu, Dieter Losgen-sensei kyudan jujutsu and Wagner-sensei hachidan, eighth dan, jujutsu, and Johnny Bernaschewice-sensei nanadan, seventh dan, aikido and hakko-ryu jujutsu from Belgium.

Today, Chris is an internationally recognised master of jujutsu and aikido, but more than 38 years ago, on 13 and 14 September 1969, he received his shodan, 1st dan, in jujutsu in Dortmund, Germany, and six months later his shodan, 1st dan, in aikido in Montreal, Canada. In 2007 he received his nanadan, 7th dan, aikido and gained the title “kyoshi”, advanced teacher.

To this day, Chris still dedicates himself to the practice, as well as to the theory, of his arts, and is one of only a few masters to have taken a practical mat examination for his godan, 5th dan, in aikido; in fact, Chris has achieved two separate godan ranks in aikido by mat examination.

Reflecting Chris' diverse and continuous study of the martial arts, he also holds a godan, 5th dan, in jujutsu; a godan, 5th dan, in budo and a yondan, 4th dan, in aiki-jujutsu, to list but of few of his senior ranks.

Kyoshi Moslin is the Chief Instructor of the Aiki Budo Fraternity and Shushin Aiki Dojo.

Sensei Ian Williamson

Takemusu Aikido (1st Dan), Kyusho (2nd Dan)

Ian started his Aikido training under Sensei Bob Lincoln during his time at University, and led to Ian's mindful commitment to study all aspects of O'Sensei's Instruction. Under Moslin Sensei, Ian gained a fuller understanding of the technical requirements of his Art and gained his Shodan in 2008. Ian has also studied a number of subjects and associated Arts which he feels brings greater understanding to the more internal and spriritual aspects of Aikido. These studies have included Qigong, Neigong, Soto Zen and Reiki (level II). He has also gained Nidan in the Art of Kyusho.
